Jon David Moses (born July 2, 1984) is a British singer, actor and presenter. Moses became well known after becoming a finalist on ITV (TV network). Moses' musical career began at Shotton Hall Senior School when he landed the lead roles in the musicals Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Oliver Twist'.[1] Moses then was awarded a scholarship for four years of classical voice training in County Durham.[2]

Career

From 2010 until 2012 Moses was a touring male vocalist for First Choice (UK), Bourne Leisure, Mecca and Park Resorts.

In 2012 Moses became a contestant on ITV (TV network) Superstar. Moses was selected as the eleventh contestant by Andrew Lloyd Webber.[3] He became a finalist but was eliminated on the ninth episode.[4][5]

In December of 2012 Moses took on his first role as the prince in the pantomime Sleeping Beauty.[6] In the spring of 2013 Moses toured nationally Flynn Rider in the stage production of Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure.

In 2013 Moses released his first album Better Man [7] which featured the popular song 'Crying' by Roy Orbison.

In 2014 Moses performed internationally as the guest star singer on cruise ships. In March of 2014 he was cast to play the role of Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar|Jesus Christ Superstar at the Gloucester Cathedral,[8] the first time Lloyd Webber's rock opera would be performed in a UK cathedral. After starring in Jesus Christ Superstar with Ria Keen who played Mary Magdalene he joined Ms. Keen again at the Swan Theatre for You're The Voice featuring Ria Keens group Voices Unlimited.

In 2015 Moses began his Musicality Tour and also became a judge for the Teen Star National Competition.[9] Moses was a presenter at the BBL Championship|BBL finals at the O2 Arena (London)|O2 Arena in London and performed at Hoops Aid.

In 2017–2018, Moses worked with writer/composer Scott Alan as a guest artiste at Zedel's in London. Moses debuted his second album Journey which rose to number five on the classical crossover charts. Moses again opened the BBL finals at the O2 Arena as guest artiste with rapper Tinchy Stryder[10]Tinchy Stryder|. Moses also became lead actor as the Prince in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the Aylesbury Waterside Theatre|Aylesbury Waterside Theatre with Su Pollard, LaVoix and Andy Collins (TV presenter)|Andy Collins.[11]

2019–2020 – Moses helped create and lead B-Vocal, an organization that works with people to overcome challenges with anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder. Moses headlined at proms and Prosecco Fizz Festivals[12] and played Prince Charming in UK Productions' Cinderella at the Sunderland Theatre with Scarlett Moffatt and Gemma Naylor.[13]
