Jermaine Clarkson (born 19 September 1984), popularly known as JLC is an American rapper and entrepreneur. He is the founder of A.A.G. RECORDS, an emerging record label, artist management, and music production company.[1] Under JLC’s leadership, A.A.G. RECORDS focuses on providing a global platform for emerging artists, helping them find their footing in the music industry.[2]

JLC rose to popularity with the release of his hit single I Be On It back in 2017 in which landed on the national charts. Intent on pursuing a solo career as a rapper, after releasing a number of singles, JLC revealed his debut album in 2017 titled Hollywood to critical and commercial success.[3][4] Some of his other hit songs include I Did That Freestyle, Can’t Sleep, Jelly, and Illuminate One to name a few.[5]

Early life and education

JLC was born on 9 September 1984 and grew up in Ft. Worth, TX. When JLC was in middle school, he developed a passion for music and began writing and composing songs. He also created Geeta Block Soljas, a rap group, and started taking gigs at some local places.

Fast forward a few years, JLC ended up going to prison for an act he committed in self-defense. When he got out, JLC got a job in Houston, TX and after 2 months ended up transferring to Waxahachie, TX.

Career

In Waxahachie, JLC eventually started a trucking business which became a success and resulted in him getting back on his feet. JLC then decided to pursue a career in the music industry and hence started A.A.G. RECORDS, which also gained market traction within a short period of time.[6] JLC leverages his platform to help budding musical artists gain the traction they deserve.[7] The label has also helped kickoff JLC’s music career with the production, licensing, and publishing of all of his songs that are currently available across all music streaming platforms.[8]
