Jennaba Fofanah (born August 1, 1996), popularly known as Jay Bang and Jay Bang The Great, is an African-American rapper, singer, and songwriter.[1] She has been regarded as one of the most influential up-and-coming hip hop artists in Texas and is best known for her singles On Sight, Yeah, Do Yew, Flex,[2] and 4 da Streetz.
Winner of the Music Streaming Award, Jay Bang has garnered mainstream exposure for her multidimensional skills, uniqueness, authenticity, and natural sexy prowess. She is also acknowledged for establishing a diverse music production atmosphere in the hip hop industry as a whole, exhibiting lyrical content that ranges from abstract to reality, aggressive overtures, emotional, and passionate notions.[3]
Early life and education
Jay Bang was born on 1 August 1996 in Houston, Texas. She became inclined toward music when she was seven and composed her first song at the age of ten. During these initial years, Toni Braxton, the late Dino (of the group H-Town), Missy Elliot, Shawnna, Michael Jackson, and others impacted Jay Bang greatly.
Career
Jay Bang released her debut song in 2016 titled Eff Love. Since then she has created multiple popular singles such as “Krushing,” “Do Yew,” and “Get it! Jay Bang recently did a benefit concert in Arlington Texas pertaining to Breast Cancer awareness this past September. She is currently promoting the newest Hit singles entitled “On Sight”, “Flex”[4] and “Yeah”[5] which are all available on all music outlets. Jay Bang has also been featured in Hype Magazine, Billboard Hip hop as well as Pitchfork music for her unique lyrical approach and eclectic style.
