Jared Kamrass is a prominent Democratic political strategist and admaker, born and raised in Cincinnati.[1] He graduated with honors from The Ohio State University and holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Cincinnati. He is currently a Principal with Technicolor Political, where he has served as the lead strategist and admaker for Rep. Greg Landsman’s upset victory in Ohio’s First Congressional District. He has served on the admaking team for Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI) and the DGA, Mayor Brandon Johnson (D-Chicago), and the Michigan Senate Democratic Caucus.[2][3]

Kamrass served as a Senior Advisor to the DCCC and founded Rivertown Strategies in 2013 and served as Principal and Chief Strategist until 2021, where he consulted with clients to design communication and messaging strategies, wrote campaign plans, and executed large-scale fundraising operations for campaigns at the federal, state, and local levels. Kamrass raised funds totaling $30 million over the course of working with 41 clients and has served as the chief strategist and admaker for candidates for Congress, Governor, Mayor, State Legislature, and County Executive in 18 states across the country. He has also served as a Senior Advisor to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, FC Cincinnati, the University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics, and is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Cincinnati. In 2021, Kamrass joined Technicolor Political in Washington, DC, where he currently serves as a Principal, advising clients on paid communication strategy, budgeting, and targeting, as well as script, produce, and deploy electronic communication on behalf of clients, including TV, digital, and radio ads. Kamrass and his wife Emma live in Cincinnati with their dog, Archie.[4]

Early Life and Education

Jared Kamrass was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he grew up with a passion for politics and public service. He attended The Ohio State University, where he studied political science and strategic communication and graduated with honors. During his time at Ohio State, Kamrass worked for the Ohio Democratic Party and worked on campaigns for several candidates for the state legislature in Central Ohio.

After graduating from Ohio State, Kamrass returned to Cincinnati and began his career in politics as a campaign staffer on races in the Midwest and Upper South.

In 2013, Kamrass founded Rivertown Strategies, a political consulting firm based in Cincinnati. He built the firm from the ground up, serving as the principal and chief strategist, and worked with a diverse group of clients, including federal, state, and local candidates, political parties, and advocacy organizations. Kamrass's ability to raise significant funds for his clients and his strategic approach to campaigns earned him a reputation as one of the leading Democratic political strategists in the Midwest and Upper South.

In addition to his work in politics, Kamrass is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Cincinnati, where he teaches courses on political communication and public affairs. He also serves on the board of several non-profit organizations, including the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Cincinnati.

Career

He serves as the primary strategist for Democratic candidates and causes, advising clients on paid communication strategy, budgeting, and targeting. Kamrass also scripts, produces, and deploys electronic communication on behalf of clients, including TV, digital, and radio ads.[8]

Kamrass has also made significant contributions to the academic community. He is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Cincinnati, where he teaches courses on political communication and public affairs. Kamrass designs and creates course material for undergraduate students and brings a bipartisan group of local elected officials and candidates to campus to engage with students.[9]
