Jang Gyu-ri (born December 27, 1997),[1] known mononymously as Gyuri, is a South Korean singer, actress and dancer signed under Pledis Entertainment.[2] She is best known as a member of the South Korean girl group Fromis 9.

Early life

Gyuri was born in Seoul on December 27, 1997 as the only child of her family. She studied abroad in Richmond, Virginia for exactly a year.

Career

2017: Idol School

She was revealed to be a contestant on the 2017 girl group survival show Idol School (2017 TV series). In the finale, her final ranking was ninth place, thus making her a member of Fromis 9.

2018: Debut with Fromis 9, Produce 48

Fromis 9 officially debuted with their mini album To. Heart on January 24, 2018.

Before the release of the group's sophomore EP To. Day, Gyuri did not participate in the album's recording and promotions after she was announced to be participating in Produce 48.

She was unfortunately eliminated on episode 11 of the competition, arriving in 25th place, and did not debut as a member of Iz*One. She then returned to her activities with Fromis 9 and later fully rejoined the group following the release of their single album From.9.

2019: Acting debut, solo activities

Gyuri debuted as an actress with the TvN (South Korean TV channel) Dating Class on May 10, 2019.
