James Bentley (born 5 August 1993) is a British entrepreneur, Forex and commodities trader, fund manager, and globally recognized financial markets educator. Hailing from London, Bentley has established himself as a prominent figure in the financial sector. His expertise and innovative approaches in trading have garnered him international recognition, making him a sought-after mentor and educator for aspiring traders and investors worldwide.[1]
Early Life and Education
Born in London, James moved to Spain and then back to Surrey during his primary school years. With a passion for football and making money – James went straight into the city at 16 and joined a world-leading intermediary as a junior trader who facilitate and execute trades on behalf of the world’s leading financial institutions. Here he found his true passion in trading.
After completing secondary school at 16, he went straight into the city and threw himself in the deep end on one of the largest trading floors in Bishopsgate, London. James started as a Junior Trader for ICAP, a world-leading intermediary in wholesale financial, energy and commodities markets. ICAP execute trades on behalf of the world's leading financial institutions.
Being on the trading floor live shadowing seniors was the best education he could have asked for, but over the years, he was introduced to further education and certifications held by the London Stock Exchange in Securities & Investments. James also passed the CISI exams at 21, being the youngest trader to achieve a qualification in capital markets.
Career
James’s career started in 2009 after leaving School and starting a career in the financial markets as a junior trader on the biggest UK trading floor in the city of London. Working alongside some of the best traders in the UK at that time, James’s career quickly progressed, delivering results for the firm's clients he made a prominent name for himself, leading to offers from the top trading institutions globally.
In 2013, James decided to leave the hustle and bustle of the city to continue developing his own personal trading strategies. James branched off with 2 of the seniors he previously worked with, who raised nine figures, to start a retail fund mainly focusing on currencies and commodities. This fund then became the largest retail fund in the UK, which James played a vital part in growing.
Whilst being on the front line and executing trades daily, James developed multiple trading strategies and started to display them live in action, trading in front of large audiences in some of the most volatile trading sessions. Putting his reputation on the line and consistently pulling off results, James was regularly hosting live events for Forex Brokers, and Trading companies globally, spending a lot of time in Africa, Singapore and GCC.
In April 2018, James saw a gap in the market offering top-quality education at an affordable price and Financial Markets Online began. James pulled a team of credible traders together and started to build simplified trading courses in all financial products to teach people how to navigate the financial markets successfully.
