History

J. J. Keller & Associates, Inc. was founded by John J. (Jack) Keller[3] in 1953 in a one-room office in Neenah, Wisconsin[4]. Based on Keller’s background in transit and location in the center of Wisconsin's Fox River (Green Bay tributary)|Fox River Valley, home to the state's paper mill industry, he began by advising paper companies and the transportation industry on the regulatory complexities involved with the Interstate Highway System. By the 1970s, the second generation of the Keller family became involved in leading the business, which employed hundreds of associates. J. J. Keller began diversifying from transportation to add general employee safety following the Occupational Safety and Health Act (United States)|OSHA Act of 1970, and construction and manufacturing became focal areas. Soon after, the company began advising human resources professionals seeking to comply with United States labor law|United States labor law.

Today, J. J. Keller & Associates, Inc. is led by third-generation President & CEO Rustin Keller and employees 1,500 associates across the United States. J. J. Keller serves more than 600,000 clients in transportation, environmental health and safety, and human resources with Consulting & Managed Services; Mobile, Cloud & Online Management Tools; Electronic logging device|Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) & Connected Fleet Technology; Digital & Printed Publications; Training via Learning Management Systems, Virtual reality|Virtual Reality and Content, and Safety Forms & Supplies.

Philanthropic efforts by J. J. Keller & Associates, Inc. include support for the National Private Truck Council Certified Transportation Professional program as well as other industry contributions. In addition, the J. J. Keller Foundation[5], a separate charitable giving entity, has provided more than $50 million in support[6] for nonprofits since it was formed by Jack Keller in 1990.
