Ishtiaq Hussain is a Senior Civil Servant in UK Government and Author.[1]. He has written articles[2] and reports[3] on faith[4] and counter extremism and appeared in the national media[5]. He has led counter extremism work in several UK government departments since 2010[6]. In 2011, he published the report The Tanzimat: Secular Reforms in the Ottoman Empire[7]. He was a finalist for 'Civil Servant of the Year' award in 2013[8]. In 2023, he was awarded an OBE[9] in the King's first Birthday Honours List for Public Service[10]
