Indian School Talent Search Exam (ISTSE) is an international level talent search examination intended for students in 1-10 class to evaluate the natural intellectual ability of students.[1][2] ISTSE was established in 2016 under the guidance of Nehawashini Anil and Vikash Anil.[3] ISTSE is a product of Educational Excellentia and it aims at providing an educational measurement and assessment service, which helps in identifying the intellectual potential of the students.[4]

ISTSE is scientifically designed as a single paper exam and focuses on a skill based assessment test for students belonging from class 1 to 10.[5] The paper pattern of ISTSE is entirely concept based and focuses on bringing out the strengths and weaknesses of the students by incorporating skills and concepts that resonate with the school syllabus.[6] This test is a multiple-choice based exam comprising Mathematics, Science, English and Mental and Logical Ability questions.[7]

History

ISTSE was founded in 2016 by Nehawashini Anil and Vikash Anil with the aim to create a platform that helps in assessing the analytical skills by tapping into the educational potential of the students. In order to generate a winning drive in the applicants, ISTSE came up with an ideal to offer recognition and awards to students that shows exemplary promise in the exam. They also offer scholarship programs to the students at class, school and international level.[8]

ISTSE is a single paper exam that is based on the syllabus of CBSE, ICSE and State Boards. This exam can be attempted both online and offline and is open for all the students of classes 1 to 10. A student can either apply individually or through his/her school.

Awards and Recognition

In 2020, Nehawwashini Anil (Director - ISTSE) was named as “Star Brands - Edupreneur of the Year” by Planman Marcom.

ISTSE Syllabus and format

ISTSE is the first in school space that provides cash scholarships to the top 3 ranks holders of each class.[9] For the exams conducted via school, these scholarships are available for each participating school.[10] ISTSE makes sure that one student from each class of each participating school can earn this scholarship based on the merit and participation criteria. Also the IT team of ISTSE ensures that there is no mal-practice or cheating during the exams by activating AI-based anti-cheating software also providing an extra 16 points for fair practice during the exams. After the results of the scholarship exams, ISTSE conducts a 100 marks video interview for the top 10 rank holders of each class in order to pick the top 10 of them all.

The student acquiring the 1st rank will be awarded with the scholarship of 1500 rupees per month for a year along with a Topper Shield. The 1st runner up will be awarded with a prize money of 1000 rupees per month for a year with a 1st runner up shield. And the second runner up is awarded with a scholarship of 500 rupees per month for a year. [11]

ISTSE also provides recognition awards and certificates which are:

  • Students scoring 95% or above are rewarded with Scholar Certificate along with a Gold Medal
  • Students scoring 90% to 94.99% are rewarded with an Outstanding Performance Certificate along with a Silver Medal
  • Students scoring 80% to 89.99% are rewarded with a Distinguished Performance Certificate along with a Bronze Medal
  • Students acquiring 60% to 79.99% are given a Participation Certificate
  • Students acquiring below 60% are given a digital Participation Certificate

Indian School Talent Search Exam provides an online scholarship exam for individual registration and through school registration. It also offers a paper-based scholarship exam through school registration. The paper pattern of ISTSE is multiple-choice based.
