indi (spelled with a lowercase "i"), is a company for Instant payments and banking that primarily supports Gig worker and Independent contractor.[1] indi's financial technology platform lets businesses pay workers instantly to an indi debit card. indi services for workers include a mobile banking account, instant payment options, a debit card, and saving account for taxes.[2]

Their slogan is “Payments for today. Financial tools for the future."

History

indi was launched in 2019 as a part of numo, a Fintech incubator supported by PNC Financial Services, or PNC.[3] It is based out of Pittsburgh, PA, where PNC's headquarters are also located.[4]

In 2021, indi teamed up with gig economy marketplace Jobble to launch a debit card for the banking needs of independent contractors. This includes a debit card and mobile app with tax savings and expense tracking. It is supported by PNC Bank and powered by the Mastercard network.[5]
