Chan Cheuk Yin, Ian (born June 9, 1993) is a Hong Kong artist and singer-songwriter. He was a member of the Hong Kong Men’s National Volleyball Team and the South China Athletic Association Volleyball Team A1 Division.[1]
Chan graduated from St. Francis of Assisi's Caritas School and Cheung Sha Wan Catholic Secondary School. Studying at secondary school, he became a member of the volleyball, athletics, and basketball school teams. He was named “Best Setter” and recruited into the All-Star Team in the Hong Kong Schools Jing Ying Volleyball Tournament 2011–2012.[2] He later studied in the Department of Public Policy at the City University of Hong Kong. After winning a singing contest in Year 1, he began to receive professional singing training and became an artist of ST Productions.[3] He was at the same time a university student, volleyball athlete and contract artist in this period.
In 2018, in order to participate in Good Night Show King Maker, a talent contest produced by ViuTV, and develop his acting career, Chan exited the Hong Kong Men’s National Volleyball Team. He eventually won the second place in the competition and officially debuted as a member of the Hong Kong boy group MIRROR.[4] His first single as an individual singer, “Phase 2 Building” (二期大樓), was released in 2019.[5] “Officially Begin,” (正式開始) released in 2020, became the champion song on the charts of Commercial Radio Hong Kong and Metro Info.
