Hugh Roxburgh (born 12 October 2002) is an astrophysicist, songwriter, and sportsman who lives in Christchurch, New Zealand. Currently studying at the University of Canterbury, Roxburgh is known for his modern research in conjunction with his promising music career.
Early Life
Born in Auckland, New Zealand, in 2002, Roxburgh was raised with his mother, father, and two sisters. He attended Selwyn College, Auckland, at which he was awarded the prestigious school dux award, the Simon Chan Science Scholarship, for 2019.[1]. During this time, Roxburgh was a promising youth footballer before obtaining a serious back injury. Due to this, he took a break from the sport and has since pursued basketball despite suffering from mild dwarfism. He has also played Cricket at a less competitive level[2]
Music Career
In Roxburgh's spare time, he writes songs of the Lo-fi music genre and often sacrifices sleep for this passion. Roxburgh's stage name is rhoxu. He has nearly 1000 followers on Spotify[3] and has been rumored to perform at University of Canterbury's Mono concert, although this has not yet taken place.
