Hossein Fateh (born 19 June 1967) is the Founder and CEO of CloudHQ LLC, a US-based data center developer and operator[1]. Fateh was the CEO and Co-Founder of DuPont Fabros Technology and its predecessor, DuPont Fabros Development.

Early life

Fateh was born in Tehran, Iran on 19th June 1967. Fateh attended Dean Close School in Cheltenham, UK. Fateh attended George Washington University and achieved a BA in Business Administration and an MSc in Finance[2].

Upon graduating from George Washington University, Fateh worked with Bahman Batmanghelidj, a Northern Virginia real estate developer who helped transform the once-rural Dulles Airport Corridor in western Fairfax County[3].

Dupont fabros development & duPont fabros technology

In 1997, Fateh co-founded DuPont Fabros Development ("DFD") with Lammot DuPont. In 2007, Fateh was the first person in the US to get a Private Letter Ruling from the IRS qualifying data centers as "good" REIT income[4].

In 2007, Fateh and DuPont brought their data centers to the public market as DuPont Fabros Technology (NYSE:DFT), with the largest REIT IPO of 2007.[5]

In 2015, Fateh resigned as CEO of DFT to be succeeded by Christopher Eldredge[6].

CloudHQ llc

Building on his experience with DFT, in 2016 Fateh founded CloudHQ, a next generation data center company[7]. CloudHQ completed the biggest deals of 2016 [8]and 2018[9], both in Northern Virginia. CloudHQ owns additional land in Northern Virginia on which is can build up to 1000 megawatts of IT load and it has control of sites in Frankfurt and London for approximately 100 megawatts of IT load respectively[10].

Dalian development llc

In 2012, Fateh founded Dalian Development, a multi-family construction and rental company based in Washington DC. Dalian has built over 1000 units, including Dalian on the Park in Philadelphia and Dalian Monterrey Village in San Antonio.

Falvez energy & windHQ

Fateh founded WindHQ and sister company Falvez Energy. In 2017, Falvez and WindHQ completed their first project the Astra Wind Farm, a 163MW wind farm in the Texas Panhandle[11][12].

Personal life

Fateh lives between London UK and Washington DC with his wife, documentary filmmaker Dalia Fateh[13]. They have 3 children. Together they run the Blue Sands Foundation[14].

Fateh sits on Executive Committee of the Steers Center for Global Real Estate at Georgetown University[15]; the Advisory Board for the Center for Real Estate and Urban Analysis (CREAU) at George Washington University[16]; and the Research Council of the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York[17].
