Heinz Junkermann (born in Frankfurt 7 January 1928)[1] was a German businessman. Junkermann died in June 2011 in Düsseldorf.

Career

Among Junkermann’s business interests, he founded his own private banking institution which he ran for clients in Germany and Western Europe. In addition, Junkermann also had commercial interests across Germany, including serving as managing director of the real estate company IFG Gesellschaftfür Immobilienbesitz mbH[2][3][4] and the jewellery company, Schmuck-Kassette GmbH.[5][6]

Personal life

Junkermann was a committee member of the :de:Prinzengarde_Düsseldorf_Blau-Weiss|Prinzengarde Düsseldorf Blau-Weiss,[7][8] the largest carnival society in Düsseldorf. The carnival was founded in the 1920s and provides many of the leading members of the :de:Comitee_Düsseldorfer_Carneval|Comitee Düsseldorfer Carneval e. V.[9][10] Junkermann was also a member of Rotary International.[11][12]

Junkermann was married to Ingrid Junkermann and is the father of entrepreneur and investor Nicole Junkermann. Nicole Junkermann has credited her parents for involving her in their business interests from a young age, in particular acting as a translator for Heinz Junkermann in business meetings. Heinz was also a keen sportsman, and played competitive table tennis at regional level.[13][14][15][16]
