GetBlock is a Blockchain-as-a-Service (BaaS) platform founded in 2019 in Belgrade, Serbia.[1] The company provides instant API access to full nodes across over 50 leading blockchain networks.[2]

History

GetBlock was established in 2019 in Belgrade, Serbia, as an in-house blockchain infrastructure service focused on providing reliable access to shared and dedicated RPC nodes for B2B clients.[3]

The platform enables developers and businesses to retrieve on-chain data without requiring manual node setup, offering support for various protocols such as JSON-RPC, WebSockets, gRPC, and GraphQL. Operating with a fully remote workforce of over 100 employees, GetBlock aims to simplify blockchain integration for applications across diverse sectors.[4]

In Q4 2019, the GetBlock core team explored various business models, built MVPs in the programmable blockchain infrastructure sector, and researched the potential addressable market.

In 2020, GetBlock launched its public RPC node functionality, allowing developers to connect to shared and dedicated nodes without setting up their own infrastructure.[5]

By 2021, the company became the leading RPC node provider for Binance Smart Chain (BSC).

In 2022, GetBlock introduced public block explorers for networks such as NEAR and Fuse, enabling users to monitor blockchain data, and launched a blockchain webhooks infrastructure to support dynamic application development. By the end of the year, GetBlock had become the industry leader in blockchain network support, with over 50 supported blockchains. The company also co-organized the TRON Hackathon.[6]

In 2023, GetBlock implemented major technical upgrades, including the addition of gRPC and GraphQL interfaces, along with improvements in connection speed and uptime. These upgrades allowed the platform to onboard thousands of users, particularly during the Arbitrum ARB token airdrop. Later in the year, GetBlock introduced seamless payment systems and an affiliate program to improve user experience.[7]

In 2024, GetBlock became the first RPC node provider to support the Firehose interface. The company also launched private zkSync RPC endpoints, offering premium solutions for participants of ZK airdrops. By the end of the year, GetBlock had established itself as a leading Solana RPC provider, offering Solana Pro RPC nodes capable of handling over 1,000 requests per second.[8]

Products and services

GetBlock provides blockchain RPC nodes for decentralized applications, supporting blockchains such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Polygon, Solana, and zkSync. Its services include shared nodes, which offer cost-effective access to blockchain networks by sharing computational resources among users, and dedicated nodes, which provide custom deployments tailored to specific applications.[9]

The platform also features additional tools, including public block explorers, the Web3 Dapps Hub, crypto faucets, and an industry glossary of blockchain applications. Developers can access blockchain data through various API interfaces, including JSON-RPC, WebSockets, gRPC, and GraphQL.[10]

GetBlock's solutions cater to a wide range of clients, including Binance, Ripple, the TON Foundation, and TrustWallet.[11]

Awards and recognitions

GetBlock received the World Future Award for Best Blockchain-as-a-Service Platform in 2023.[12]

  • It was ranked among the best RPC node providers by Coingecko in 2023.
  • In 2024–2025, GetBlock was listed among the Top 10 RPC node providers by ChatGPT.

Philanthropy

GetBlock actively supports the blockchain community by providing free infrastructure for early-stage developers. The company also contributes to educational initiatives, including support for an IT university in Nigeria.
