Gaurav Bhatia is a Senior Advocate designated by the Supreme Court of India and the National Spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party [1]. He was born on 16 February 1977. He has also served as the Supreme Court Bar Association's Honorary Secretary. Before being appointed as a Senior Advocate, he was also an Advocate-on-Record of the Supreme Court of India. He was formerly the National Spokesperson of the Samajwadi Party and the National President of the Samajwadi Party's Legal Wing.

Personal life

He is the son of late Virendra Bhatia, a former Rajya Sabha (India's upper house of Parliament) member and Advocates General of Uttar Pradesh. Gaurav Bhatia received his education at La Martinière College, Lucknow, followed by undergraduate studies at the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut, United States, and a law degree from Lucknow University. From 2015 to 2017, he served as the Honorary Secretary of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA). Gaurav Bhatia was a National Spokesperson and the National President of the Samajwadi Party's Legal Wing [2]. On 5 February 2017, he quit the party, and on 2 April 2017, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party and is now the National Spokesperson of the party.[3]

Politics

Gaurav Bhatia, a former Samajwadi Party leader, and spokesman have joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. He resigned from the party on February 5, claiming that it had failed to safeguard the interests of the legal community in Uttar Pradesh. He did not launch any personal attacks on former UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav or his father Mulayam Singh Yadav.[4][5]

Education

He received his education at La Martiniere College in Lucknow, followed by undergraduate studies at the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut, United States, and a law degree from Lucknow University. From 2015 to 2017, he served as the Honorary Secretary of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA).
