Gabriel Canella (born October 12, 1985)[1] is a Brazilian actor and occasional model.

Early life

Canella was born in Rio de Janeiro, his father is a aircraft pilot and his mother is a psychologist.[1] He studied at the drama school Teatro O Tablado|O Tablado and graduated in theater at CAL School (Casa das Artes de Laranjeiras).[2]

Career

Canella started his acting career in the theater, he participated in the play O Ateneu in 2002, directed by Leonardo Brício and André Mattos.[3]

In 2006, won the role of Isaías in the soap opera O Profeta, aired by Rede Globo until 2007.[1]

In 2015, he debuted in the play Hamlet ou Morte, which in the same year had 100 performances and was a success with audiences and critics, returning in 2016 and 2017.[4][5]

In 2016, returned to act in a soap opera of Rede Globo, Êta Mundo Bom!, in the role of a door supervisor called Vermelho.[1]

In 2020, he played a reality show star in the Netflix web series Reality Z, the first production of its kind in Brazil.[6]

Modeling

Canella appeared in advertising campaigns for many brands, including Fish Bone (New York), Oi (telecommunications)#Oi Móvel|Oi Móvel, Fiat, Axe (brand)|Axe, Burger King, Nova Schin and Coca-Cola. In March 2010, signed with the modeling agency Super Agency.

In August 2016, he was photographed by Vinícius Mochizuki for a fashion editorial of the Mensch magazine.[2]
