She created her own YouTube channel in 2015 under the name Fancy Vlogs By Gab, and began releasing music as a solo artist in 2016 with her debut single "Ever After". She released her debut extended play Gabroadway in 2020, ahead of her 2022 solo debut studio album.

Early life and career

Gabriella Nelida DeMartino[2] was born on May 5, 1995 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.[3]

DeMartino has three siblings named Nicola, Alessandra and Anthony.[3] Before starting as in a duo, DeMartino was a part of the channel 00RemakeGirls, which was created in 2010 with her twin Niki and older sister-actress Alex. They first performed as Niki and Gabi when uploading covers onto that channel.[4] In July 2015, she created her side channel Fancy Vlogs By Gabriella DeMartino, now known as Fancy Vlogs By Gab.[5] She released her debut solo single "Ever After" on July 17, 2016.[6] She also created her YouTube horror-comedy show, Blood Queens, a show that has run for four seasons from 2017 to 2020.[5][7][8] The show was produced by DeMartino herself and co-directed by her and Thomas Hughes.[9] She released her second single "Flowers" in July 2018, which was featured on Niki and Gabi's debut EP, Individual (EP)|Individual, and its music video features a cameo from Paris Hilton.[10][11] Later in September, she was featured on Mina Tobias's "Another One" track with Kai Lucas, which was later followed by her first diss track "Yacht" in the same month.[12][13] In November, Gabi appeared in the music video for "Thank U, Next (song)|Thank U, Next" by Ariana Grande, which broke the record for the List of most-viewed online videos in the first 24 hours|most-watched music video in YouTube within 24 hours at that time.[14][15] In February 2019, she released her valentine single titled "Cold Room". The song was also written and recorded in 2016.[16][17]

When the duo began focusing on their solo music, Gabi released her debut EP, Gabroadway, in June 2020, which contains 3 covers and a medley.[18] In September 2020, she gave an interview for Forbes following the lead single "Champagne Dreams" of her upcoming debut studio album, Beautiful Mess.[5] The song was followed by the second single "Pretty Little Mind" the next month.[19] She also has launched her first fragrance that has the same name as her album Beautiful Mess.[20] In June 2021, Badgley Mischka collaborated with Gabi and K9Wear and launched a clothing collection for dogs, and Gabi served as an ambassador for the canine collection.[21][22] Badgley Mischka has also worked on the design of her wedding rehearsal dinner dress and a coordinating outfit for her dog Lilian "Lily" Rose.[23][24] In August 2021, Gabi released the third single "Not Today" off of her debut studio album, and was the opening act for Russian-German DJ Zedd at his concert in Musikfest.[25][26][27] The same month, Pumpkin & Spice partnered with Gabi and launched their skincare line.[28] In October 2021, Gabi released her 'cancel culture anthem' single titled "Immaculate".[29] She also appeared on the Facebook show Red Table Talk|Red Table Talk: The Estefans in November.[30] In December 2021, DeMartino collaborated with Kenny Screven on a Christmas single titled "Barbie and Ken".[31]

Personal life

In December 2020, it was revealed that Gabi has got engaged on Thanksgiving to her boyfriend of 5 years, Collin Vogt, a photographer who was born on 1997. The couples has revealed that they're planning to get married in 2022.[32][33][34]

Controversies

In September 2020, Gabi was criticized for a video titled "BFF Income Challenge" in which she was accused of flaunting her income. In the video, she compared her spending income with a friend revealing a "spending disparity of thousands of dollars per week". She later issued an apology.[35]

In December 2020, Gabi made a nude video of herself at the age of 3 available for sale for $3 on the content subscription platform OnlyFans.[36][37][38][39][40] She was accused of duping her fans about the contents of her video which was teased with the caption "won't put my panties on", distributing child pornography and setting up unsuspecting purchasers for felony possession of child pornography.[41] OnlyFans suspended her account for violating their terms of service. Gabi initially attempted to downplay the incident as "trolling", stating to Business Insider|Insider, "Drama channels are trying to make something out of a childhood video of me, that's hilarious", and claiming her OnlyFans "was not a sexual page",[42] though her previous posts were sexual in nature.[43]
