Karyna Balashova, known by her stage name Freaky Siren, (born on March 1st, 2003, Dnipro, Ukraine) is a Ukrainian artist, TikTok blogger and singer. She is also a semi-finalist of the show “Voice of the Country 10” and a participant of the “Singing All” shows.
Biography
Karyna Balashova was born in Dnipro, Ukraine in 2003. Her father has a great love for jazz and soul music.
At the age of 17, she began writing and releasing her first tracks. These songs were released under a different name and are owned by producers with whom she stopped working in 2021.
In 2020, Karyna Balashova took part in the show “Voice of the Country 10”, she left the project at the “knockout” stage, having received high praise for the performance from the jury members.[1][2]
Freaky Siren debuted in February 2023 with the song "Zalezhna," about her first love. In May 2023, she released "Ne Soromno," a song about freedom and being true to oneself. At the same time, she is signed with the BlackBeats label, which distributes her music.[3] At the same time, Karyna collaborated with Tricky Nicki on the track "OK," adding a distinctive melodic touch.[4]
On August 24, 2023, the performer Freaky Siren posted a new video on TikTok, in which she performed the hit "Paint The Town Red" by American rapper Doja Cat in Ukrainian. The video quickly went viral and became a hit on the TikTok platform, with over 30 thousand videos made for the Ukrainian-language version. Thus, on September 12, the full version of the song Demon appeared on streaming services.[5]
In November, Freaky Siren was nominated for the MEGOGO Music Awards, recognizing her as a contender for the title of Hip Hop Artist of the Year.[6]
In February 2024, Freaky Siren was set to perform at the first her concert in Kyiv.[7] In March 2024, Freaky Siren released the single “Nahiba”.
