Fancy Acholonu (born July 26, 1991) is a Nigerian-American fashion model, actor, singer, and entrepreneur.[1] She is known for her notable contributions to the modeling industry, acting foray, and successful entrepreneurial ventures. She founded Simply Fancy,[2] a haute perfume, and Zodiacaa, a zodiac-themed merchandise store.[3][4]
As an internationally acclaimed model, Acholonu has an impressive portfolio, including collaborations with esteemed brands such as L'Oréal, Coca-Cola, Samsung, Verizon, Versace, Tory Burch, Macy's, and many others. She also appeared on the television series "Lethal Weapon" and in short independent films.[5]
Early life and education
Acholonu was born in Los Angeles to Nigerian parents and grew up in Downey with her five siblings. From an early age, she displayed a passion for sports, actively participating in basketball and track and field during her school years at Downey High School. In addition to her athletic pursuits, she also had a keen interest in piano and drawing.
Acholonu's upbringing was marked by frequent trips to Nigeria, her family's home country. These journeys fostered a connection to her cultural roots and provided valuable educational experiences. During this time, she attended both boarding school and engaged in homeschooling, gaining a range of learning opportunities. Eventually, she completed her bachelor’s from the California State University in Long Beach, Los Angeles.
At 12, Acholonu enrolled at Barbizon Modeling School, where she took her first steps into modeling. After completing her training, she returned to the school as a teacher, sharing her knowledge and expertise with aspiring models.

Modeling career
Following her graduation, Acholonu signed with BMG Model Management. It was with this agency that she secured her debut job, collaborating with the prestigious brand L'Oréal. This marked the beginning of her successful career as a fashion model.[6][7]
Throughout her modeling journey, Acholonu has had the privilege of working with esteemed designers, including Tory Burch, Missoni, and Versace. These collaborations have allowed her to showcase her talent and versatility as a model while also solidifying her presence in the fashion industry.[8]
Later on, Acholonu joined the Daniel Hoff Agency, a well-known commercial agency. It was at this point that she experienced a breakthrough moment, impressively securing a national commercial for Honda after her first audition alongside renowned personality Nick Cannon. This significant achievement propelled her career even further, allowing her to work with esteemed brands such as Coca-Cola, Samsung, Verizon, Macy's, and numerous others.[9]
Acholonu continues to model for select brands, utilizing her platform to promote her business ventures. She also collaborates with other brands as an influencer, leveraging her expertise and industry presence to establish mutually beneficial partnerships.[10][11]
Acting career
Diversifying her professional pursuits, Acholonu ventured into the world of acting and secured representation with a talent manager at Hines and Hunt Management. She landed her first notable acting role as a co-star in the television series "Lethal Weapon." She was also selected for a significant role in the drama-documentary movie "Gina's Journey: The Search for William Grimes." Her portrayal in this film garnered widespread acclaim. Additionally, Acholonu made appearances in short independent films, further cementing her reputation as a versatile performer and steadily expanding her acting portfolio.[12]
Entrepreneurial career
Acholonu's entrepreneurial drive led her to establish Zodiacaa, initially focused on zodiac sign jewelry and later expanded into a diverse gift shop with zodiac-themed merchandise. Her entrepreneurial achievements gained recognition, leading to a feature by Intel Technology that showcased her roles as a model, teacher, and entrepreneur. This exposure resulted in the production of a commercial, highlighting her success in multiple domains.[13]
Acholonu delved into the fragrance industry and created her own perfume line, "Simply Fancy." Drawing inspiration from her personal challenges, the fragrance struck a chord with her followers and quickly became a success, embraced by women worldwide.
Acholonu is also an experienced social media marketing manager, working at Gym80 USA, a position she assumed in September 2022.

Acholonu resides in Los Angeles, California. On May 3, 2021, she got engaged to Alexx Ekubo, a well-known Nigerian television personality and her long-time boyfriend. However, after three months, she called off the engagement.
