Rafaella Carvalho, also known as Ella Droste and Ella Carvalho (born September 27, 1990), is a Brazilian model, beauty pageant titleholder, actress, writer[1] and influencer.

Carvalho was propelled to fame in 2014, after she participated in the South Korean talk show Three Turns[2], where she discussed being previously engaged to a celebrity and how it affected her.[3] She is also known for acting in K-Dramas.

The fashion model has walked for several designer brands, including Gucci, Dior, Daniel Vior and Prada. She is also known for writing articles focused on social issues, with topics ranging from vaccine inequality during the COVID-19 pandemic [4] , to domestic violence [5] .

Aside from being a published author[6], Carvalho has also competed in international beauty pageants, representing her native home, Brazil.

Biography

Carvalho was born and raised in Aracaju, Sergipe. She is the daughter of professor and politician Valeria Maria Lima Campos.

Her modeling career began in 2005, with Mega Model agency, in Brazil. Since then, she has walked and shot editorials for several brands internationally.

Carvalho studied medicine for 3 years, before being awarded a scholarship from the Korean government in 2010. Soon after, she dropped out and moved to South Korea to pursue a business degree. In 2014, she received an award from the Korean government for outstanding academic performance.[7]

In the same year, Carvalho entered the Miss First beauty pageant as Miss Brazil, being placed as first runner-up.[8]

By the end of 2014, she had become a recurrent guest in the popular Korean talk show Three Turns, rising to fame after rumors that she was in a relationship with an actor arose.[9]

In 2016, Carvalho entered the Miss Supertalent of the World, where she placed in the Top 11.[10] Only a year later, she represented Brazil at the Miss Freedom of The World pageant, but dropped out of the competition soon after due to conflicting schedules.

She is known for being featured in commercials for several brands, such as Samsung, LG, Domino Pizza, Coca Cola, Maska Eye Wear and Dunhill, as well as for her modeling work in fashion shows, such as Seoul Fashion Week, Seoul Africa Fashion Show[11] and Salon du Chocolat[12].

Carvalho currently works in the IT industry and speaks English, Korean and Spanish fluently, in addition to her native language Portuguese. [13] She also has a basic knowledge of Russian and Italian.
