Evaldas Gulbinas (born March 21, 1991) is a Lithuanian tattoo and fine artist based in London, United Kingdom.[1][2][3] He is renowned for his intricate tattoo designs and fine art, which explore themes of social change, freedom, conflict, and adversity.[4][5][6][7]

Gulbinas grew up in Lithuania and attended two art schools there before moving to London. His fine artwork spans various mediums, including drawing, painting, sculpture, installations, and digital art.[8] He aims to incorporate emotions and experiences into his visual art.[9][10]

Publications such as AATONAU Magazine,[11] NYK Daily,[12] London Daily Post,[13] Artist Weekly,[14] and the Hudson Weekly[15] have featured Gulbinas' fine art. He continues to create art and tattoos from his eponymous studio in London.[16]

Early life and education

Gulbinas was born and raised in Kėdainiai, Lithuania. At seven, he began participating in art activities and took up skateboarding. When he was thirteen, he enrolled in Kėdainiai Art School, where he studied sculpture, drawing, installation, and painting.

In 2007, Gulbinas moved to Vilnius to attend the M.K. Čiurlionis National Art School, where he advanced his skills in mixed media and life drawing and painting.

In 2009, Gulbinas relocated to London, where he became interested in tattooing. He began getting tattoos and undertook apprenticeships, eventually working as a professional tattoo artist in parlors across the United Kingdom.[17]

In 2014, Gulbinas enrolled at West Thames College in London to pursue a foundation in art and design. In 2019, he earned a Bachelor’s in Fine Art from the University of Westminster. He then pursued a Master’s in Fine Arts at Chelsea College of Arts, University of the Arts London, graduating in 2022.[18][19]

Career

Gulbinas is a fine art, sculpture,[20] painting,[21] tattooing,[22] installations, mixed media, and digital artist.[23] His artistic style blends abstract pop-art surrealism with avant-garde elements, exploring themes of freedom, social change, conflict, and adversity.[24] Gulbinas uses a variety of mediums, including digital art and mixed media, and is well-known for his intricate metal sheet sculptures, which combine engraving and painting.[25] His famous work includes the Geometric Impressions of Evaldas Gulbinas.[26][27][28]

Gulbinas has been a professional tattoo artist for six years, specializing in styles such as traditional, dot work, abstract,[29] cubism, color, blackwork, oriental, and fine line.[30][31][32][33][34]

Gulbinas is dedicated to fostering a vibrant and inclusive artistic community through workshops, collaborative projects, and mentorship programs to empower emerging artists.[35][36][37]

Gulbinas' work has been featured in magazines like "Skin Deep Tattoo," "Total Tattoo," and "Creates Magazine" and has been exhibited in notable galleries including Espacio Gallery and Brick Lane Gallery.[38] He has participated in numerous exhibitions across the United Kingdom, Italy, and Canada.
