Early life and education

Nlewedim was born in Lagos on March 13, 1994, but hails from Abia State. She was raised solely by her mother in Lagos, but found her father after a relative who contacted her on Instagram reunited the family. She attended Victory Grammar School and Command Secondary School in Ikeja, Lagos for her secondary education, and graduated from Covenant University in 2013 with a bachelors degree in Business Administration. In 2019 she attended Met Film School in London.[1][3]

Career

In 2014, she contested in the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MGBN) pageant, representing Kogi State, and winning the Miss Photogenic award. She gained some recognition following this.[1]

In 2015, Nlewedim made her Nollywood debut playing the lead role in the TV Series titled Secrets and Scandals, but is best known for playing Nifemi in Hire a Woman (film) for which she won a Best New Actress award.[4] She has since appeared in multiple other Nollywood productions.[5][6]

In 2020, Nlewedim was a housemate on the 5th edition of Big Brother Naija. She was disqualified on day 49 after earning 3 strikes for breaking house rules. She garnered a significant fan base which gave her the Star Girl moniker. In a bid to get her the prize money, her fans embarked on a fundraiser.[1][7] She trademarked the Star Girl moniker in 2021.[8]

Nlewedim serves as the brand ambassador of two brands under the Nigerian Breweries and Swarovski|Swarovski Nigeria.[9]
