Eric Rylee is a German singer and songwriter who has made a name for himself in the music industry.[1] With a passion for music that dates back to his childhood, Rylee started refining his singing abilities as a frontman for a cover band.[2]

In 2008, he released his debut single "Long Ago..." which quickly climbed the newcomer charts and stayed in the top 10 for six consecutive weeks. Throughout his career, Rylee has experimented with various music genres, including house and children's music. His album "Adventure" was credited with the "Akademia Music Award" in the United States.[3]

Rylee gained international recognition in 2019 with his hit single "Fly", which was at number 1 on the charts in both the Netherlands and Belgium and charted in Canada and Germany, receiving airplay on major radio and music television stations. Recently, his latest single, "Rising Up Again", reached number 6 on the major download charts for singer-songwriters in the United States.[4]

His music is available on all major streaming platforms, such as Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Soundcloud, YouTube, and others.[5]

Early life

Rylee was born and raised in the village Bissendorf (municipality of Wedemark) near Hanover, Germany, where he developed a passion for music at a young age, often singing in the shower and receiving vocal training. He went on to become a frontman for a cover band, where he continued to refine his singing abilities.

Career

Eric Rylee's career took a pivotal turn in 2006 when he was chosen as one of the three singers to attend the "School of Young Artists" (SoYA) in Hamburg. During this time, he captured the attention of Platina Music's Gerry Williams (Eruption) and Uwe Friedrich. Two years later, in 2008, he made his mark in the music industry with the release of his debut single "Long Ago…", which quickly climbed the charts of the German music television "iMusic 1 TV" (iM1) newcomer charts, peaking at number two and retaining a spot in the top 10 for six consecutive weeks.[6]

In 2009, Rylee released his debut album, "Supernatural”, which consisted of 12 tracks that take listeners through an emotional journey of highs and lows. In 2011, he made a foray into the house genre, gaining fame with his track "Like I Do".[7]

Rylee, being a lifelong Phil Collins fan, in 2013 achieved a personal milestone by working with Sascha “Busy” Bühren on a cover version of the Collins hit song "Do You Remember". Bühren has worked for Collins himself in 2001, producing a Lil’ Kim feat Phil Collins cover/remix of the Collins classic “In The Air Tonight”. Besides the vocals Rylee played/arranged all instruments by himself with “Busy” producing and mastering the song.

In 2014, Rylee released a new album titled "Adventure" featuring popular tracks, such as "I Feel Good", "Spread Love", and "I'm So Done", with “I’m So Done” becoming Rylee’s first Song being played on MTV. ”Spread Love” today is Rylee’s most used song on the social media plattform “TikTok”. The album was credited with the "Akademia Music Award" in the United States. “Adventure” included 12 tracks.

Rylee achieved global success in 2019 with his hit single "Fly", which was written by Eric and produced by Sebastian Lang who produced for Universal Music, Warner Music, Sony Music and others. The single dominated the number 1 positions in the Netherlands and in Belgium for two consecutive weeks. The song also charted at 27 in Canada and 56 in Germany (and top 100 in several countries around the world), leading to airplays of major radio and music television stations in those regions. The song trailer was played in several major theaters. In order to gain the most possible control of his creative work Rylee founded his own music label Eric Rylee Records and additionally started a collaboration with former Universal Music Managing Director Luc Standaert. Also in the same year Rylee was invited as a jury member and guest star at the Euro Pop Contest in Berlin.

In 2022, Rylee made a foray into children's music with a cover of the German children's classic "Wer hat die Kokosnuss geklaut" (also known as "Die Affen rasen durch den Wald") under the name "Eric Rylee for Kids". The track proved popular, peaking at number two on Switzerland's major download charts. It was Rylee’s first release in the “Dolby Atmos” format.

In 2023, Rylee released his latest single, "Rising Up Again", which reached number 6 on the major download charts for singer-songwriters in the United States. Rylee primarily writes music in English language and has dabbled in various music genres throughout his career, reaching from piano ballads over pop-rock and EDM to pop music.

Rylee's single "Long Ago..." and album "Supernatural" were produced by Gerry Williams of the band "Eruption" ("I Can't Stand The Rain", "One Way Ticket"). Sascha “Busy“ Bühren produced Phil Collins Cover Song “Do You Remember”. Rylee's songs "Spread Love" and "I Feel Good" were produced by Marco Heggen "Marquess" ("Vayamos Companeros"). The songs of Rylee's album “Adventure” were separately produced by Gottfried Koch, Marco Heggen and Ilyas Mokhlis and all song masters were done by multi award winning mastering engineer Ludwig Maier, who has also mastered several other productions of Rylee’s, including the single “Fly”. The song "Rising Up Again" was written by Rylee, co-composed by Christian Rentel and was produced by Universal Music producer Edric Hwang.
