Eno-Obong Essien (born 13 May 1982) is a Nigerian tech-entreprenuer. She is the founder and chief executive officer of Rheytrak Limited.[1] [2]
In 2012, She was nominated as the Entrepreneur of the Year, Technology category at the 7th edition of the Future Awards Africa among many others.[3]
Early Life
Childhood and Family
Eno was born in Lagos, Nigeria, on 13th May 1982 to Nsikak and Naomi Essien from Uruk Uso in Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. She grew up with two siblings.
Education
She studied Microbiology at the University of Calabar obtaining a BSc and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration from National Open University. She is an alumnus of the Lagos Business School.
Professional Career
In 2007, at the age of twenty-five, Eno-Obong founded Rheytrak Limited, the first female owned vehicle tracking company in Nigeria with no prior work experience.[4] [5]
She is the Public Relations Officer of the Association of Telematics Operators of Nigeria[6] and a member of the Governing Council of the Lagos Business School Alumni Association (LBSAA).[7]

Essien has received awards and nominations for her contributions to business and entrepreneurship.
• In 2019, Eno Essien was recognized by The Guardian Newspaper as one of the women who made impact.[8]
• She was also awarded in 2019 and 2021 as the Exquisite Ladies of The Year (ELOY Awards) for Woman Who Inspires.[9] [10]
• In 2020, She was recognized by the Akwa Ibom State government, her home state, as an outstanding indigene.[11]
• In 2012, She was also nominated as Entrepreneur of the Year, Technology category at the 7th edition of the Future Awards Africa.[12]. Also, Her Network Technology Woman of the Year 2019.[13]
Personal Life
Essien is the daughter of Nsikak Essien, the Former Editor of National Concord Newspapers.[14] [15]
