Drew Colby (born 1974) is a prominent Shadowgraph from Gateshead, England. Colby has created work for television and theatre.[1], giving performances on five continents. Described as "an artist at the top of his game" in 2017 by the Croydon Citizen [2] his work is best known for the speed with which he transforms from one character to the next, manual dexterity and whimsical humour. The Times of India described Colby's work as "utterly convincing stuff" [3].

In 2017 Colby worked with Danny Boyle on several episodes of Trust (American TV series), coaching Donald Sutherland and Harris Dickinson in the art of hand shadows, and performing the close-up hand shadow sequences. He has also created bespoke sequences for Not Going Out and 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. In 2019 Drew created the hand shadow Tripods for the live performances of The War of the Worlds by Jeff Wayne in London. His corporate work includes videos for Nintendo [4] and the RSPB [5]. Drew Colby was third in the final of Das Supertalent in Germany in 2021.
