Dr. Lyn Corbett is an American professor and organizational consultant.
Early Life and Education
Born in Queens, New York, Dr. Lyn Corbett immersed himself in a vibrant, education-centric environment, being one of six siblings. His upbringing was marked by city explorations, school engagements, and remarkable track and field accomplishments. Complementing these, he was deeply committed to community volunteerism, empowered by his parents' unwavering support and the guidance of influential educators.[1]
Initiating his academic quest at Saint Francis Preparatory School in Fresh Meadows, Queens, Corbett subsequently graduated with a B.S. in Criminal Justice from St. John's University (1989-1993). He then attained an M.P.A. from New York University (1995-1997), focusing on Non-Profit Management. Culminating his academic endeavors, he received a Ph.D. in Leadership Studies from the University of San Diego School of Leadership and Education Sciences in 2020.[2]
Professional Experience
At The Pivotal Group Consultants Inc., Dr. Lyn Corbett has been the President since June 2012, serving both Sacramento and San Diego, California. His responsibilities in this capacity encompass delivering bespoke organizational consulting, streamlining it to address the unique requirements of various clients, and guiding organizations through strategic decision-making pathways. Under his leadership, he's addressed an array of community health challenges, been instrumental in the acquisition of over $6 million in grants for assorted entities, and pioneered initiatives that boost employee morale through executive coaching. Additionally, his contributions in the field have earned him recognition as a BoardSource Governance Trainer.[3]
Furthermore, Dr. Corbett has also been sharing his insights as an Adjunct Professor at the University of San Diego School of Leadership and Education Sciences. Based in the Greater San Diego Area, he has been a part of the academic community there since January 2016.
