Dr. Sylvia Litana Ezozo
Sylvia Litana Ezozo (born October 9, 1958) is a Zambian-born American nonprofit executive, entrepreneur, and community leader. She is the chairwoman of the African Diaspora Foundation (ADF), president and chief executive officer of Aivlys Solutions USA Inc., and Global Director of Chapter Formation and Community Outreach for the African Diaspora Development Institute (ADDI). Her work has focused on community development, peace education, African diaspora engagement, and capacity-building initiatives.[1]
Early life and education
Sylvia Litana Ezozo was born in Ndola, Zambia. She attended Evelyn Hone College of Applied Arts and Commerce in Lusaka, where she studied Office Management. In 1995, she immigrated to the United States and became involved in organizations serving the Zambian community and diaspora. She was among the co-founders of the first Zambian Association in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area, promoting cultural preservation and community engagement.
Career
Sylvia Litana Ezozo has held leadership positions in nonprofit organizations and private enterprises focused on African diaspora development, community outreach, and international cooperation.[2]
She serves as Global Director of Chapter Formation and Community Outreach for the African Diaspora Development Institute (ADDI), where she oversees the development of the organization's international chapter network and promotes collaboration among diaspora communities.[3]
Sylvia Litana Ezozo is the chairwoman of the African Diaspora Foundation (ADF), a nonprofit organization that promotes peace education, human rights awareness, and nonviolence. Under her leadership, the foundation has participated in humanitarian and educational initiatives, including community outreach, healthcare support, and diaspora engagement programs in Africa and the United States.
She is also the founder, president, and chief executive officer of Aivlys Solutions USA Inc., a company involved in infrastructure development, project financing, and business initiatives in several African countries.
Before her current leadership roles, Sylvia Litana Ezozo worked in organizational leadership and human resource development for corporate and nonprofit organizations in the United States. She has also served as a motivational speaker, mentor, master of ceremonies, and advocate for women's and youth development.
Media and public engagement
Sylvia Litana Ezozo contributed to the production of Africa Plus, a television program serving audiences in the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia region. The program focused on African culture, community affairs, and issues affecting members of the African diaspora.
She has also participated in cultural exchange initiatives in collaboration with African diplomatic missions and community organizations in the United States.
