Dr. Sarah Sun Liew is a Korean-American entrepreneur,[1] educator,[2] activist, and pastor and International best- seller published author.[3] She was a Republican candidate for the U.S. representative for California’s 33rd Congressional District in the 2020 election, as well as a Senate candidate, in both 2022 and 2024 election.[4][5][6] Dr. Liew has announced her intention to run for the U.S. Senate in the 2026 election.

Early life and education

Dr. Liew was born in An-dong, South Korea, into a family of educators who have significantly contributed to various fields including economics, politics, defense, and medicine in Korea and the United States. She emigrated to the United States at the age of 24 (Korean age 26). Prior to her move, she served in multiple roles, including English teacher, SAT instructor, Sunday school director, assistant pastor, hospital medical staffer, and worship leader within the Christian Business Owners Association from 1990 to 1995.

Dr. Liew holds two undergraduate degrees from DaeHan Theological University and Calvin University. She also holds a master’s degree in theology from Anyang Graduate School of Theology and completed a master’s degree in Christian education from Calvin Bible College. In addition, she earned associate degrees in nursing from Saint Mother’s College and American College USA, and studied English literature and translation at YJ University.

She has graduated from several alumni programs at prestigious institutions, including the Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard Business School, and the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Dr. Liew also holds a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) in international business trade and policy from Pacific State University, graduating in 2006. At Newburgh College, she earned postdoctoral Ph.D.s in sales, marketing, nonprofit management in 2013, She earned second postdoctoral Ph.d in biblical preaching and political leadership and speech in 2019. Additionally, She earned third postdoctoral Ph.d in Christian Education from Newburgh College in 2024.She also studied certifications in master public accounting courses at UC Berkeley and she certified achievement entrepreneurship leadership training at USC LA Metro Minority Business Enterprise center.

Dr. Liew has engaged in specialized alumni programs at several prestigious institutions. She attended the Harvard Business School for the School Management and Leadership program for two years and the International Business, Entrepreneurship, and Leadership Principles program for one year. Additionally, she completed a two-year combined program with the Harvard Graduate School of Education and Harvard Business School, earning alumni status and graduating from both schools. She also completed the Public Leadership Credential (PLC) program at the Harvard Kennedy School, earning alumni status upon graduation.

Dr. Liew further expanded her education through specialized alumni programs at Wharton Business School, where she studied transformative financial services and strategies. She also completed certifications in artificial intelligence for business at the MIT Sloan School of Management, real estate development planning at the MIT School of Architecture, and economic behavior at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Her legal education includes studied a Juris Doctor (JD) at Abraham Lincoln Law School. She completed computer science for attorneys and legal professors, and completed the ZERO-L program, which offers first-year law school sample classes at Harvard Law School. As well as she

Real Estate Industry

Dr. Liew began her career in real estate after graduating from Wiltshire Real Estate School in 1996. She founded and managed several real estate and finance companies, including Meridian Beverly Hills Realty and Management Inc.[7] Her work in real estate involved property management, investment, and brokerage services. She also held a position at Berkshire Hathaway Beverly Hills, where she contributed to the company's real estate operations for nearly four years. Over her 26-year career in real estate, Dr. Liew's expertise and leadership have had a significant impact on the local real estate market.[8]

Fintech Industry

Dr. Liew has been a prominent figure in the fintech industry for 28 years.[9] She is the founder and CEO of MPS Merchant Services Group Inc., a company specializing in credit card processing and merchant services. Before 2014, she served as an assistant pastor and Sunday school director at large churches, including Calvary Church and Holy Mountain Church in Korea, while also supporting Songpa, Gunja, and Holy Light churches. In the U.S., she served as an assistant pastor and Sunday school director at Calling Mission Church, Elim Presbyterian Church, New Hope Church, and Mijoo Peach Church, while supporting Beverly Hills Presbyterian Church.
