Early life and education
Dr. Jain was born and raised in India. She completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees at Sawai Man Singh Medical College in Jaipur, India, in 1996. Continuing her professional development, she pursued postgraduate training in emergency medicine and internal medicine through residency programs at Long Island Jewish Health System, Albert Einstein College of Medicine from 1997 to 2003. Additionally, Dr. Jain completed the prestigious 10K Small Business Program with Goldman Sachs, which significantly contributed to the growth of Statcare.
Career
Dr. Jain has held significant positions in various healthcare institutions, highlighting her commitment to delivering medical care. From 2003 to 2004, she served as an attending physician and site residency director at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital. In 2004, Dr. Jain joined Greenwich Hospital as an attending physician in the Department of Emergency Medicine.[3]
While working in emergency rooms, Dr. Jain observed a significant gap in healthcare delivery, particularly in accessing routine or non-urgent care. This realization came after the unfortunate loss of a 37-year-old woman to esophageal cancer due to delayed primary care appointments. Motivated to address this problem, Dr. Jain founded Statcare Urgent & Walk-In Medical Care in 2008. The mission of Statcare is to provide the community with high-quality, affordable, and essential medical attention during emergency crises. As the CEO and Chief Medical Officer at Statcare, Dr. Jain leads the organization's strategic vision and ensures top-notch medical services.[4]
Dr. Jain is an esteemed member of professional associations such as the American Board of Emergency Medicine and the American Board of Internal Medicine. Her extensive expertise enables her to offer various medical services, including disease screenings, annual physical examinations, pulmonary function testing, and evaluations for worker's compensation and disability. She also treats various conditions, including asthma, ear infections, sinus problems, sore throats, migraines, and high blood pressure.[5]
Research & Publications
Dr. Jain has actively shared her expertise and findings at numerous conferences and events. Notably, she delivered a lecture at INTEM 2002 in India and conducted a workshop on regional Anesthesia during the same event.[6] Dr. Jain has been involved in research, including a study on vertical response in collaboration with the Fire Department in New York. She has investigated the effects of metformin on polycystic ovarian syndrome and researched preventive medicine and cardiology.[7]
Dr. Jain's commitment to advancing medical knowledge is evident through her published research papers and articles. She has contributed to topics such as the influence of smoking and hypertension on mortality in patients with coronary artery disease.[8]
Dr. Jain actively engages in community service and has organized ambulance trips for preschoolers and provided medical assistance at Nassau County football games.[9]
Personal life
Dr. Jain resides in New York with her husband, Dr. Snadeep Jain, and three children. In her free time, Dr. Jain enjoys spending time with her family. Her hobbies include cooking healthy Indian recipes, meditation, and listening to music. She also enjoys podcasts, particularly those on entrepreneurship, and is an avid reader of both fiction and non-fiction.
