Dr. Ivan Rusilko (born March 3, 1984) is an American osteopathic physician, entrepreneur, author, and fitness model.[1] He is recognized for his work in lifestyle medicine, emphasizing a holistic, patient-centered approach to healthcare.[2][3]
Early life and education
Dr. Rusilko was born on March 3, 1984, in Meadville, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Meadville Area Senior High School in 2002 and later attended Mercyhurst College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Health Biology in 2005 through an accelerated 3+4 year program. He pursued his medical education at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM), graduating with a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree in 2010. Rusilko was awarded the Dean's Award by LECOM during his medical training.
While at LECOM, Dr. Rusilko developed an interest in fitness and bodybuilding, earning the Mr. USA title twice, in 2008 and 2010. He also obtained certifications as a sports nutritionist and advanced scuba diving credentials.
Career
Dr. Rusilko began his medical career specializing in medical weight management, wellness, and sexual health.[4] In 2012, he started as a specialist at The MIAMI Institute for Age Management & Intervention, where he developed programs in sexual health, anti-aging, and preventive medicine.[5] He is also known for introducing innovative treatments such as IV nutrition therapy and hyperbaric therapy to South Florida.[6][7][8]
In 2013, Dr. Rusilko co-founded the Club Essentia Wellness Retreat at Delano in Miami Beach, where he introduced the concept of "Luxury Medicine." This approach blended personalized medical treatments with a high-end patient experience, offering services like IV nutrition therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and hormone optimization.[9]
Dr. Rusilko later established Lifestyle Medicine in Miami Beach, where he provides holistic and tailored healthcare services.[10] His practice emphasizes physical, mental, and emotional wellness through various treatments, including hormone optimization, peptide therapy, and ketamine treatments.[11]
In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Rusilko has served as a clinical professor at Empire Medical Training and a guest professor at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. He has been involved in teaching certification courses in aesthetic and wellness medicine across the United States.[12]
Dr. Rusilko is also active in public advocacy and education.[13] He has been a national media spokesperson for topics such as diet, exercise, sports nutrition, and sexual health on behalf of the American Osteopathic Association.[14] He is board certified in aesthetics by the American Academy of Procedural Medicine, where he serves on the Physician Advisory Board.[15]
Dr. Rusilko is the author of The Winemaker’s Dinner trilogy. The series blends romance and culinary themes with a unique narrative style.[16] In 2014, Carnival de Amor, a Spanish translation of Appetizers, was released.[17][18][19]
He has also organized high-profile events for clients such as the Miami Heat and the Chinese Chamber of Commerce.[20][21]
