Dr. Caleb Jacobson is a Jewish-American clinical psychologist, sex and relationship therapist, bible scholar, podcaster, and former musician and songwriter.[1][2] He is the President of The School of Sex Therapy and is the chairperson of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists’ (AASECT) special interest group on sexuality and religion.[3][4]

Jacobson hosts two podcast shows: "Uncomplicated Sex"[5] and "Sex Therapy Podcast."[6] He is widely recognized for having worked with notable religious leaders and sex therapists and has been featured in several leading media publications and magazines for his work toward bridging the gap between religious and personal beliefs concerning sex.

Early life and education

Dr. Jacobson is an American-born Orthodox Jew. He graduated from Liberty University and pursued his psychology doctorate from California Southern University.

Dr. Jacobson's early years were filled with a deep love and passion for music. His first concert experience, attending a George Jones concert with his grandfather at age ten, left a lasting impression on him. He began to explore the world of bluegrass music and started playing the guitar and mandolin. He cited Bobby Osborne as his most significant influence and recounts how the Opry star took him under his wing as a teenager, offering guidance and support in his mandolin playing.

As a teenager, Dr. Jacobson spent much of his time playing music and hanging out with fellow musicians. He discovered a newfound passion for songwriting in college and began recording his music. He has worked with several Grammy award-winning artists, such as Country legend Charlie Daniels and Bluegrass icon Del McCoury.

Dr. Jacobson is an internationally recognized sex and relationship therapist and clinical psychologist. Because of his unique educational background, he is an expert in sex therapy with religious clients. Dr. Jacobson is dedicated to helping couples navigate the delicate balance between religious beliefs and personal desires regarding sex. In his therapy sessions, he incorporates his client's religious beliefs by drawing upon religious texts and teachings from their faith tradition. Dr. Jacobson works with a diverse range of clients, including Christians and Muslims, who may face various sexual issues. He offers virtual therapy sessions, making it easy for clients to reach out to him from anywhere and at any time.[7]

The school provides training for therapists in their approach to sex therapy and offers the only international certification in sex therapy. He is also the chair of the special interest group on sexuality and religion for the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT).[9]

In addition to his therapy practice, Dr. Jacobson reaches a broader audience through his podcasting efforts. On January 4, 2020, he launched the Sex Therapy Podcast, which discusses essential topics relevant to your sexual health and wellness, interviews notable guests, and answers your sex and relationship questions. It has gained over 100,000 listeners worldwide. He also created the Uncomplicated Sex podcast, a weekly 15-20 minute show released every Tuesday, where he discusses relevant topics related to sexual health and wellness, interviews notable guests, and answers questions about sex and relationships.[10]
