Dishko Dishkov (born 1970) is a Bulgarian sculptor known for his monumental and figurative sculptures.
He primarily works with metal and stone, often drawing inspiration from Bulgarian history and mythology. His notable works include Khan Asparukh, Khan Alcek (Celle di Bulgheria, Italy), Khan Kotrag (Samara, Russia), Generals Georgi and Vladimir Vazov (Sopot), Gen. Nikola Ivanov (Svilengrad), and Saints Constantine and Helena (Pazardzhik)[1]. He has also created busts of notable historical figures such as Vasil Levski (in Hisarya and Kostenets), establishing himself as a prominent contemporary sculptor in Bulgaria.
Early life and education
Dishko Dishkov was born in 1970 in Karlovo, Bulgaria. From an early age, he displayed an aptitude for art. He attended the Secondary Specialized School of Stage Design in Plovdiv before continuing his studies at the National Academy of Arts in Sofia, where he specialized in Artistic Metalworking under Professor Georgi Chapkanov. Concurrently, he refined his craft in the workshop of Academician Krum Damyanov.
