Dexter Morse is a British Legal, Risk and Insurance Consultant, writer, and keynote speaker. Morse is known for his expertise in corporate insurance and risk management frameworks and since 2025 has been serving as the Global Insurance & Risk Director for a Fortune 500 / S&P 350 multinational in the chemical, pharma, fragrance & flavours manufacturing space.

Morse has over 25 years of experience, during which he has worked with multiple firms championing the development of International Business Law and Insurance & Risk Management programs for universities in Switzerland and the Middle East and ran accredited training courses in many different countries. He has also resolved sensitive workplace issues for leading international corporations, UN Agencies, and NGOs.

Morse is a prolific international writer and keynote speaker addressing a wide range of topics including legal, claims and risk issues, diversity and inclusion, workplace harassment, mobbing, bullying, toxic office environments and rogue employees. Early life and education

Morse was born in Gloucestershire, United Kingdom. He enrolled in the University of Wales in 1989 to pursue an LLB and graduated with Honours in 1992. After six years, Morse again went to the University of Wales to pursue a master’s degree with a specialization in International Commercial Law. In 2002 he acquired a Ph.D. with distinction in International Insurance and Reinsurance Law from the University of Zurich, Switzerland.

Later in 2019, Morse pursued studies at Yale University on Fostering Inclusion and Diversity in the workplace.

Career

Morse began his career in the UK with various large composite Insurers and Lloyds of London syndicates before moving into Reinsurance.[2]

In 1997 Morse joined Swiss Re as a Legal and Claims Counsel for EMEA, before joining Converium Re (SCOR) as a Senior Legal Counsel and Head of London Market North American Claims.

In 2006 Morse became the Senior International Risk & Insurance Consultant at a boutique consulting firm during which he trained senior executives, developed guidelines and best practices for various International companies and non-governmental organizations.

In 2012 Morse became the Manager of Operational Risks & Insurance at SITA a global IT and telecom organization. He subsequently moved to the Arabian Gulf where he was Head of Risk Management at United Insurance Brokers Limited in Dubai and Head of Risk and Insurance for the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (TDIC) before joining AXA Insurance Company as their Regional Legal Counsel for the GCC, where he worked for several years.

Morse again started working in consulting as an International Insurance & Risk Director, prior to joining the International Air Transport Association (IATA) as the Director of Global Insurance and Risk Management.

Morse restructured coverages to reduce costs and protected IATA from internet-based risks and reputational damage by exploring innovative products. He also organized and spoke at IATA’s Industry Risk & Insurance Management (RIM) Forum in London in 2019. Apart from that, Morse pioneered COVID-19 risk webinars, which were highly acclaimed by industry leaders and the RIM community. As part of this initiative, he also launched a much-lauded industry-wide Enterprise Risk Guidance Manual in autumn 2020.

In 2021 he moved to Arxada, a private equity owned global specialty chemical manufacturing company (divested from Lonza) with a multi-billion-dollar portfolio where he directed the comprehensive review and management of risk and insurance arrangements. Offering expert counsel to the business on insurance provisions, contractual risk management, and effective mitigation strategies. He led the design of innovative insurance programs, efficiently handling the RFP process to secure a new global insurance broker, launching a captive feasibility study, carrying out business interruption assessments, asset value appraisals, attending site visits and insurance audits as well as overseeing the renewals and placements of all local and global insurance policies.

Throughout his career, Morse has assumed multiple leadership roles within world-class organizations taking on mission-critical endeavors and implementing top-line insurance, risk, legal, regulatory, claims and compliance management programs within diverse industries.

Books and publications

Morse co-authored the book Tackling Insurance Fraud: Law & Practice and was a contributing author (Claims Chapter) to Informa’s Guide to Reinsurance Law.[3] He has published more than 65 articles in international media outlets in five continents on a range of subjects, including insurance fraud, claims management, product liability, medical malpractice, diversity and inclusion, workplace mobbing and harassment and rogue employees.
