Deezer is a music streaming platform that is based in France. It gives consumers the ability to listen to music material from record companies as well as podcasts on a variety of devices, whether they are online or offline.

As of January 2019, Deezer has 16 million monthly active users, over 30,000 radio stations, 100 million playlists, 90 million licenced recordings in its collection, and 7 million premium members. The streaming music service was founded in Paris.

This service is offered for use on the Web as well as for Android, iOS, Windows Mobile, BlackBerry OS, Windows, and MacOS.

In Paris in the year 2006, Daniel Marhely invented the very first version of Deezer, which was first referred to as Blogmusik. Through the use of streaming technology, it was his plan to provide unrestricted access to music fans.

In its first iteration, the website was taken down in April 2007 when the French agency SACEM accused it of infringing on copyrights and shut it down. After coming to an arrangement with SACEM to compensate copyright holders with money from advertising on the site and by allowing users to buy music played on Deezer from iTunes, with Deezer earning a commission from each transaction, it was relaunched as Deezer in August of 2007.

Due to the fact that Deezer had not yet signed arrangements with big music companies at the time of its introduction in 2007, the company provided just a select collection of songs. By the year 2011, the firm had secured the rights to around eight million songs, despite the fact that it took more than two years for agreements to be reached with the four main labels as well as many smaller companies. Around 773,000 people visited the website of Deezer during its first month of operation, and this number continued to steadily climb over the next several years. By the end of May 2008, 2.75 million individuals were using the service on a monthly basis; by the end of 2009, there were seven million users.
