Dawood Pervez (born 1975) is managing director of Bestway Wholesale, part of the Bestway Group, the UK's second-largest wholesaler[1] founded by his father Sir Anwar Pervez[2] in the 1970s.

Pervez became managing director of Bestway Wholesale in 2017.[3][4]

Early Life

Pervez was born in Berkshire, in February 1975 to parents Sir Anwar Pervez and Sabiha Kasim.

During 1988 - 1993, he was educated at Eton College, and went on to study BA (Hons) Politics and Modern History at the University of Manchester from 1993 to 1996. Between 1996–1999, he studied for an MA (Oxon) Jurisprudence Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales at University of Oxford followed by a LPC (Diploma) at the College of Law 1999 – 2000.

Career

His first job was at global law firm, Linklaters, before joining the family business, Bestway in 2002.

Between November 2002 and July 2004 Pervez was Group Legal Manager for Bestway Holdings.

Pervez was appointed to the Bestway Groups Board in 2004.[5][6]

Since 2017 he has been the managing director of Bestway Wholesale[7][8] and a non executive director of Bestway Cement.[9]

Bestway Wholesale supplies around 70,000 independent retailers that supplied communities during the COVID-19 Pandemic.[10][11][12]

Between 2020 and 2021 the Bestway Wholesale business increased from £2 billion turnover to over £3 billion.[13]

Personal life

Pervez is married to wife, Clare Pervez and has two children, a daughter, Laila Pervez and son, Zain Pervez. His cousin Lord Zameer Choudrey, Baron Choudrey is chief executive of Bestway Group.
