Davon Riley (born September 24, 1995) is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer. His music is a fusion of hip-hop and R&B, creating a blend of rapping and singing in his compositions. Riley is also the founder and record producer at Recreation Entertainment, an independent music production company.[1]

Notable works include "My Everything" (2021), "Xanax & Hennessey" (2020), "Don’t Wanna Lose U" (2020), "Heartless" (2019), “Love It or Hate It” (2018), and "Judgemental" (2018).

Early life

Riley was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, by his parents, Dave and Mary Riley. At 15, he ventured into boxing. However, at 22, he redirected his aspirations towards a career in music and acting. His exposure to hip-hop during high school served as an initial catalyst for his interest in music. Drawing inspiration from renowned rap icons and R&B artists, Riley began writing lyrics at 14. At the age of 16, Riley was very first time being in a recording studio.

Career

Riley started acting career as a background actor for films and television shows such as Someone Great, The Last OG (season 2 & 3), The Wu-Tang: An American Saga & Power Book 2: Ghost.

A couple years later, Riley found Anchored Lens Production, and they have been have helpful to help him create his first acting real where he is speaking actual lines.

Riley debuted as a singer in 2018 with the release of his single "Love It or Hate It." His musical style combines hip-hop and R&B, integrating rapping and singing. As of 2023, he has released eight singles and one EP, establishing himself as an up-and-coming music artist.

At 22, Riley ventured into acting, participating in various projects, initially taking on background roles and securing speaking parts. To support his artistic endeavors, he worked at Home Depot for five years.

Music style and influence

Riley's musical style is a fusion of hip-hop and R&B elements, blending rap and vocal performances. His compositions are influenced by rap icons such as 2Pac, Biggie Smalls, Nas, Jay-Z, and Eminem, as well as R&B figures including The Weeknd, Sade, Michael Jackson, Jon B., and Kafeeno.
