Legal career

In 2017, Oved represented Cat Cora, an American professional chef known for being featured as an "Iron Chef" on the series Iron Chef America[2] [3] In addition, he has defended Alex Sapir, billionaire and son of the deceased billionaire Tamir Sapir, in numerous lawsuits worth hundreds of millions of dollars. [4] [5] Oved has also represented clients seeking to sue the Brooklyn Nets over their reselling policy. As Oved said in a statement to the New York Post regarding the lawsuit, "The suit seeks to protect fans and Free market in the face of Nets policies that apparently do not appreciate either."[6] Oved received further recognition for representing investor Andreas Steiner against Maverick Real Estate Partners in a lawsuit with millions of dollars at hand.[7] [8] Oved was also quoted for having successfully resolved a dispute pitting real estate moguls Joseph and Daniel Rahmani against Investor Ebi Khalili and Josh Rahmani. In a statement to the Real Deal at the end of the case, Oved stated, "The parties have amicably resolved their dispute, cleared each other of any allegations of wrongdoing and look forward to pursuing their respective real estate businesses in New York City." Oved received significant media attention for his representation of Gerry Shalam in a well-known privacy case in which Shalam was videoed against his will. With regards to this case, Oved was quoted by the Daily Mail, Page six, and Asbury Park Press defending Shalam's privacy, noting, "This is a shameful exploitation of a young man who was clearly protecting himself and his friends from unwanted intrusions into their private lives at a vulnerable moment." [9] [10] [11] [11]

In addition to the aforementioned cases, Oved has represented numerous other clients in privacy lawsuits against large companies like Apple Inc. and T-Mobile.[12] [13]

In 2017, Oved was recognized as receiving one of the top 50 verdicts in New York for his representation of trademark holder 4 Pillar Dynasty LLC against New York & Co. Inc.[14]

Oved was even quoted in a 2016 Forbes article calling out the press, saying that they should "think twice before publishing something like this [about billionaire investor Peter Thiel|Peter Theil]."[15] In addition, regarding the legalities surrounding the unemployment benefits sent out during the coronavirus pandemic, Oved was quoted by the New York Post predicting that "Unemployment Insurance|unemployment insurance rates will go up almost certainly."[16]
