Daniel Primetzhofer (30 September 1982, Linz) is an Austrian physicist, university lecturer and director of the Tandem Laboratory at Uppsala University. He has published over 180 articles and journals on thin films & surface and related physics topics.

Biography

Daniel Primetzhofer attended the Bundesrealgymnasium Aubrunnerweg in Linz from 1993 to 2001. After high school he did civillian service in Hörsching, Upper Austria. From 2002 he studied Engineering Physics at the Johannes Kepler University (JKU) Linz and graduated in 2007. Afterwards he worked as Research Assistant at the Institute of Experimental Physics at JKU. In 2010 he received his PhD in Engineering Sciences from Peter Bauer with his thesis on Energy loss and charge exchange of slow ions in solids[1]. After completing his post-doctoral work (2010-2011) at the Institute for Experimental Physics, Department of Atomic Physics & Surface Science at Johannes Kepler University, he moved to Sweden, where he was offered an Assistant Professorship in Ion Physics at Uppsala University. In 2014 he was appointed as Docent in Physics with specialisation in Ion Physics and one year later he became Associate Professor in Ion Physics. From 2017 on he was appointed Director of the Tandem Laboratory (National Acceleration Infrastructure). Until now, he has published more than 120 publications[2] in SCI-journals.
