Connex One is a SaaS provider, headquartered in Manchester, United Kingdom. The Connex One platform provides communication tools for inbound and outbound interactions through a cloud-based, Omnichannel engine, amongst other B2B productivity tools and Athena AI using its web service APIs.

History

Connex One was founded by brothers Nick and Richard Mealey in 2013.[2][3] The company has since gone on to employ 450 team members across 10 offices in the UK, South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Spain, Sweden, Australia and the USA.[4]

In 2018 the company was first identified to reach Unicorn Status marked by CEO Nick Mealey receiving 'Entrepreneur of the Year' award at the Northern Tech Awards[5].

In autumn 2021, Connex One moved its headquarters to Bauhaus in the Spinningfields district of Manchester[6]. Connex One currently occupies a 17,800 sq ft space across three floors of the nine-storey Bauhaus building.[7]

2022, saw the company complete a Series C investment deal worth £93 Million ($103 Million) from private equity firm GP Bullhound[8][9][10]. The deal signified an backing in the AI arm of Connex One's platform as well as aiding in the international expansion with subsequent offices opening in Miami, Florida and Melbourne, Australia[11]. Connex One's rapid growth rate following the Series C investment was recognised at the 2022 Northern Tech Awards, in which the company had jumped 7 places from the previous year, to rank at #6 Fastest Growing Technology company North of London.[12]

According to the Vertical Business Intelligence, Connex One is identified as a "Soonicorn" a 'soon-to-be Unicorn' who have successfully grown out of their nascency to attract valuations of over a few hundred million[13].

Products and Markets

The Connex One platform is proprietary software which is developed in-house and build on its own IP. Features include: Omnichannel, workflows, VoIP, Live Chat, Workforce Optimisation (WFO)[14], Form Builder, Quality Manager, Help Centre, Ticketing tools, Reporting features as well as API integrations to Salesforce, HubSpot, Zendesk, Slack, Microsoft Teams and numerous other systems.

Connex One Athena AI is a flagship product for the company, automatically transcribing calls and extracting actionable insights from call transcripts[15]. The Athena AI product suite which includes; Entity recognition, Speech Recognition, Speech-to-text, Interaction Clustering, Chat Bots, ASR IVR, transcript search and Key Phrase analysis[16]

The Connex One platform can be utilised by Sales teams as well as Customer Service and Support Departments to facilitate communication with customers. Connex One operates across multiple sectors including: healthcare, banking, finance, technology, insurance, recruitment, customer service and call centre industries.
