Colin Behrens (also known as “ColiN00B”) (born 9 February 2000) is a German 3D artist.[1] He is best known for his real-life renderings of old games like Super Mario and Mario Kart. Behrens is the co-founder of Vertex Wizards that sells 3D assets, addons, and shaders. He specializes in environment design, photogrammetry, and shading.[2]

Apart from that Behrens is also a part-time tutor at the OWL University of Applied Sciences and Arts.

Behrens’ renders are available under CC0 license on Pixabay where he won 15 Editors Choice Awards. His work is also available on other platforms like Shutterstock and Adobe Stock and has been featured in over 1000+ creative portals, general websites, newspapers, books, novels, and news portals.

Early life and education

Behrens was born on 9 February 2000 in Germany, Bielefeld. He completed his high school education in Bielefeld. During this time, Behrens found himself inclined toward animation which was triggered by a trickfilm course he did at school. Since then he began self-learning 3D animation.

Later, Behrens enrolled in the OWL University of Applied Sciences and Arts in 2018 pursuing a bachelor's degree in Animation and graduated in 2022.

Career

Behrens started his career in 2018 as a freelance 3D artist. Since then, he has acquired numerous clients offering bespoke services and gaining a reputation as one of the leading artists in the city. Behrens’ work on Pixabay, Shutterstock, and Adobe Stock has experienced millions of downloads - suggesting his popularity as a 3d artist. Behrens, in his diversified career, has worked on multiple projects such as creating a 3d asset library, stock photos, and shaders. He has also designed advertising for several prolific clients helping them to gain digital traction for their businesses.[3]
