Clive Richard Keith Roberts born 26 July 1971 [1] is a South-African entrepreneur most well known as South Africa's youngest man at age 27 to list a company on the JSE Stock Exchange . [2]MMW technologies was listed with resounding success in 1997 (on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange) doubling its share price in the first day and under the guidance of Clive as CEO and Chairman increased 6 fold over the remaining 4 years, and in partnership with BOE bank and Transatlantic securities also became the first to start an Internet Incubator – Evolve Internet Incubator. Numerous internet businesses were established in Evolve, from media to credit card verification. Under Clive’s leadership the company was involved in numerous company acquisition and mergers today all very notable on the IT landscape.

2001 – After much success and hard work Clive sold MMW to take a sabbatical and pursue some lifelong dreams.

2002 – Clive buys and helps build his own 38-foot catamaran to sail across the Atlantic Ocean from Cape Town to Trinidad and Tobago with friends and family, spending a year on the Caribbean Sea from the Windward islands, to Puerto Rico.[3]

2003 – Not able to resist innovation, inspired by the time in the Caribbean and a passion for starting and growing business, Clive started ‘Caribbean Tan’. Caribbean tans' innovation to the tanning and tan care industry is a hit and turns into a thriving business.[4] Caribbean Tan was the first to launch professional spray on tanning machines and non orange selection of tanning solutions in South African Beauty salons, later branching out into retail, today being South-Africa’s number one Self tan and Sun care range in value and volume in retail.

2005 - Deciding he liked the cosmetics industry, Clive started Cosmetix, [5]to which Caribbean Tan was incorporated. He bought a cosmetics manufacturing business, and various other cosmetic and beauty ranges, some owned, some distributed and focused Cosmetix on the supply of beauty products to the professional salon market.

2006 - Cosmetix moved its focus into the supply of cosmetic products to the retail market brining in German brands Essence and Catrice from Cosnova Beauty,[6] which would later become the largest supplier of makeup in Europe as well as South-Africa. During the same year Clive met Cindy Nell, a former Miss South Africa[7], Miss Universe runner up, Television Star and Model, who joins Cosmetix running the marketing division.

2009 - Clive and Cindy married [8]and continued to grow Cosmetix to one of the only independent Cosmetics Manufacturing and Distribution businesses in SA.

Today Clive, father of two and his wife Cindy-Nell [9] Roberts manage Cosmetix which is the largest supplier of makeup to retailers in South Africa, accounting for an estimated 35 to 40% of the total market share.
