Clare Kenny (born January 11, 1976 in Manchester, England) is a British-Swiss artist who lives and works in Basel and Manchester.[1]

Education and career

Clare Kenny studied at Chelsea School of Art in London (Bachelor in Fine Arts) and at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (Master in Art in Public Space). She has lived in Basel, Switzerland since 2007. Clare Kenny received the Kunstkredit Prize of the City of Basel in 2013[2] and 2017[3]. In 2013, she was resident in Paris at the Cité internationale des arts, supported with a grant from Atelier Mondial.[4] In 2015, she was a resident at the Institute for Provocation in Beijing with the support of Pro Helvetia.[5] In 2018, she was awarded a grant from Atelier Mondial and Residency at 'Residency Unlimited’ in New York City.[6]

In 2016, she won the competition for Art in Public Space in Basel with her piece Site Unseen. The piece is situated on the west wall of Gundeldingerstrasse 311, and was implemented in June 2016.[7]
