Christina Amira Khalil (born August 16, 1990) is an American social worker and drug/alcohol counselor running against incumbent Senator Bob Menendez.[1][2] A former member of the Democratic Party, she switched to the Green Party in July of 2023.[3][4]

Khalil, originally from Bergen County, grew up in foster care but managed to obtain a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Psychology and a Master's of Arts Degree in Social Work from Ramapo College.[5] Khalil volunteered at the Bergen County LGBTQ+ Alliance and at Hackensack High School, the latter during the height of the COVID-19 Pandemic.[6]

Political career

Khalil entered the political sphere in 2022 when she filed with the FEC for the Democratic primary.[7] In late July of 2023, Khalil's campaign filed for a party switch, from Democrat to Green Party candidate.[8]
