Chidi Udengwu Jr. (born December 15th, 1997) is a Nigerian-American professional basketball player and public speaker. He is the founder and host of the ChitChatWithChidi podcast. Udengwu is recognized as an up-and-coming, leading basketball player who has participated in numerous tournaments across the country.[1][2][3]
Udengwu has been featured in several media outlets including Yahoo, LA Wire, Influencive, US Times Now, New Jersey Times, EuroBasket, and others.[4]
Early life and education
Udengwu was born on December 15th, 1997, in Nigeria. He grew up in California. Since he was in middle school, Udengwu began playing basketball but couldn’t get on the school team until his senior high school year at Diamond Ranch.
After graduating from high school, Udengwu spent a year at prep school and then attended San Bernardino Valley College till 2018. After two years at this college, Udengwu enrolled in Idaho State University.
Career
Udengwu began his career playing basketball for numerous conference clubs. He plays forward guard and has gained much recognition for his game. Udengwu is regarded as one of the leading Nigerian basketball players and will become the first player in history if he cracks NBA tryouts.[5][6]
In 2020, as an attempt to leverage his public speaking skills, Udengwu launched a tantalizing podcast called “ChitChatWithChidi.” With the aim of this platform, Udengwu aims to share his views and opinions as a leading sportsman and address his listeners’ questions.[7][8]
Personal life
Throughout his life, Udengwu faced many obstacles and was unable to even make it to the school basketball team, but without losing his faith in his goal, Udengwu eventually achieved his dream.
