Chidi Anyaegbu Dr (MFR) (born September 13,1956) is a Nigerian businessman, administrator and philanthropist[1]. He is the CEO and Founder of the Chisco Group of Companies.[2] He was awarded the Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR).
Early life
Chidi was born on 13 September 1956 at Amichi, a town in Nnewi-South LGA in Anambra State, southeastern Nigeria. He attended the St. Andrew's Primary School, Amichi (1963-71) where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate.[2] He moved to Lagos and passed through the Igbo apprentice system, a form of indenture servitude that is popular with the Igbos and started his first company that grew to become the Chisco Group in 1978[3], selling automobile spare parts in Ebute-Metta, Lagos State.
Career
In 1981, after attaining some success in his automobile spare parts trade, Chidi Anyaegbu launched a logistic business with a single bus from Leventis Motors plying the Lagos to Onitsha route in Nigeria to allay the lack of the unmet demand for goods and personnel transportation in the trade sector.[4][3] The success of the logistic business, later registered as Chisco Transport had spawned several companies to become known as the Chisco Group.

In the 2016 CEO Roundtable Beta Summit, he was a guest speaker discussing entrepreneurship and leadership.[5] In 2018, he was a panelist on the topic ‘Enhancing Transport Connectivity’ in the NBA-SBL Business Law Confab themed Panel Discusses Impact of Free Trade on Local Economies.[6]
Philanthropy
Dr. Anyaegbu had made these philanthropic donations:
- CHISCO Institute of Transportation Studies building at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State (part-funded).[7]
- A 3.6km asphalt road with a drainage system[3]

Controversy
Dr. Anyaegbu filed a charge against Chinenye Chinwuba in the Igbosere Magistrate Court in Lagos in 2014 for an alleged threat to his life. The case was adjourned because of Anyaegbu's absence in court and the Judge stating that the matter would not be tried by proxy. Ms. Chinwuba, however, pleaded not guilty and told the court that Dr. Anyaegbu was her erstwhile lover and was accused of threatening his life after she called off their relationship.[15]
