Government Service

While serving in the government sector, Channa Wijesekara was awarded a scholarship to pursue studies in Germany, specifically in the field of wood technology. He enrolled in the institute in June 1981 and focused on subjects such as wood technology and interior fit-outs. Upon returning to Sri Lanka from Germany, Wijesekara resumed his career in the public service and also took on the role of a lecturer. During his tenure at the Institute of Engineering Technology and Industrial Training (IETI) - National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority (NAITA), he employed effective teaching methods and applied the knowledge he acquired from his German education.
