Chaka Ngwenya is a singer, song writer, music producer and a philanthropist.[1][2][3]

Early background

Born Chakanaka Watch, Chaka Ngwenya was born in Chinhoyi a small town west of the capital city of Harare. Ngwenya is the first child of Chiwoniso and Fashion Watch, he has five siblings. He attended his primary education at Chinhoyi Primary School and his secondary education at Nemakonde High School.

Background

In 1992 he played for Caps United who he had short stint with. In 1997, he became known as a radio Dj working for Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation Radio 3, now PowerFM and his popular gospel music hits program. He is also the leader of one Zimbabwe’s first Gospel contemporary boy band The Soul Seekers of the 90s. In 2008 he was director of SARFM Radio in USA.[4][5][6][7]

Charity work

Chaka Ngwenya has been involved in voluntary work with The Salvation Army in the US and Zimbabwe in feeding the hungry, the oprhans, paying school fees for children and youths and building a school in Guruve. In 2011 he launched a song project for charity.[18]

Personal life

Chaka is married to Tsitsi Watch since 2020 and have a son born 2018.
