Chadd Ciccarelli is an angel investor originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and a start-up enthusiast best known for his investments in a number of companies like Right Rice, Muso, AMASS, and Adatree.[1] He is currently delivering his expertise at Amazon as the Head of Business Development (Launchpad). Chadd is equally interested in ecommerce, digital marketing, cloud services, and supply chain management, to name a few.[2]

Early life and education

Ciccarelli received his Bachelor of Science in History and Philosophy of Science from Carnegie Mellon University, following which he attended law school at Washington University St. Louis before dropping out and relocating to Los Angeles.

Career

After completing his education, Ciccarelli started his professional journey in 2005 as a Sales Director at the Lending Tree, where he worked for two years. Thereafter, he joined the Zillow Group as Director of West Coast Sales in 2008.[3] Following his passion, Chadd started his journey as an investor with Right Rice, Muso, and AMASS in 2019.[4]

In the year 2020, he added Own Trail, Fable Food to his investment portfolio. Ciccarelli has made 11 investments so far, his latest one being the Seed Round-Adatree on June 6, 2021. His other investments include Triggr, GGWP Academy, and Mass Dynamics, to name a few.[5]

Besides making investments, Chadd was also inclined towards the e-commerce and business development spheres.[6] Following his interests further, Chadd got an opportunity to work at Amazon as a Senior Account Executive (Video Games and Consumer Electronics) in 2011. With his extraordinary performance, he kept climbing up the ladder.[7]

Ciccarelli has served in different capacities at Amazon as a Principal Business Developer, Head of Search Advertising, and Head of Sales and Business Development. Ciccarelli also created Amazon’s Innovation Grants when he was Head of Business Development for Amazon Launchpad.[8][9] His journey with the company spans over eleven years.

In 2022, Chadd started working as Innovation Advisory at Amazon Web Services, leveraging its technology to help enterprises launch new products and pioneer the use of cloud services by using Amazon’s scaling mechanisms such as Working Backwards.[10]

Personal life

Besides being an angel investor, Ciccarelli is into supply chain management, cloud computing, product development, and digital marketing.

Chadd is also a startup enthusiast and an accomplished musician.
