Cenk Gursoy (born 1992) is a Turkish DJ, music producer, and arranger based in Istanbul. He is known for blending Afro-house and melodic house rhythms with Anatolian and Middle Eastern musical elements, and for performances at international venues and luxury brand events.[2][1] His releases have accumulated millions of streams across digital platforms and have appeared on specialist electronic music charts and curated playlists.[4][5]

Early life and education

Gursoy was born in 1992 in Yalova, Turkey. He completed his high-school education in Yalova before moving to Istanbul for university studies and later settled in the city.[1] According to his official biography, he began working with music at an early age and developed an interest in arrangement and production before focusing on electronic music and DJing.[1]

Career

Gursoy first gained attention in the Turkish music scene as an arranger and producer, working on pop and electronic projects before establishing his solo career as a DJ.[1] His early output included remixes and collaborations, such as his remix of "İnceden İnceden" and Turkish-language singles that introduced his sound to regional audiences.[6][7]

Over time he shifted his focus towards Afro-house and melodic house, releasing tracks and mixes that combine club-oriented beats with organic instrumentation. His catalog, distributed via platforms such as Beatport, Apple Music and SoundCloud, includes original tracks and remixes like "Pray," "Her Şeyi Hakladım," "Good Life," "Attention," "Emotion," "Just Goes On," and later "Sun Begins To Rise".[4][5][8][9]

Gursoy’s music has been covered by music and culture outlets including Onedio, Playy, TAGG and EARMILK, which highlighted the melodic and emotional qualities of his single "Sun Begins To Rise".[2][10][11][3]

His track "Sun Begins To Rise" was released in 2025, with an extended version distributed via SoundCloud and download platforms.[12][13] EARMILK described the single as a polished house track that balances dance-floor energy with a subtle sense of melancholy.[3]

Performances and residencies

Gursoy has performed at venues in Turkey, Europe and the Middle East, including Hovarda London, NYX London, Dear Darling Mayfair, Nobu Bodrum, Nobu Istanbul, Daze Türkbükü, Bobo Bodrum, Armani Privé Dubai, Sky Bar Kyiv and the Paramount Hotel in Dubai.[1] He has also been billed at events linked with Fashion Week Istanbul.[1]

According to his official biography and event listings, he has appeared alongside international artists such as WhoMadeWho, Bob Moses, Rodriguez Jr., Marten Lou, Themba, Francis Mercier and DJ Tennis on various line-ups.[1][14] His sets have also been programmed for luxury and fashion-related events, including performances for brands such as Louis Vuitton and Moncler.[1]

Musical style and influences

Onedio has characterised Gursoy’s work as a fusion of house rhythms with the instruments and melodies of Anatolia and the Middle East, citing his use of traditional timbres such as ney and bağlama alongside modern beats.[2] Music publications reviewing "Sun Begins To Rise" noted his emphasis on melodic structures, atmospheric textures and a contrast between uplifting energy and a reflective or melancholic tone.[10][11][3]

Streaming-platform categorisations frequently list Gursoy under Afro-house, melodic house and related sub-genres, reflecting both his rhythmic focus and his interest in incorporating regional musical aesthetics into contemporary club music.[5][4][15]
